Selena Marie Gomez, /s@'li?n@ /goUmez/s@LEEn@ was born July 22, 1992. She is an American performer, actress and producer. Gomez began her acting career with the television show for children called Barney & Friends (2002-2004). As a teenager she rose to prominence by playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-2012). She has been honoured with many awards, including being named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2017. In 2017, she also set fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named her one the 100 most influential persons across the globe in 2020. She is a well-known social media star and is the most-followed musician and actress on Instagram.
